We combine chemistry with biotechnology to develop novel solutions to industrial problems. We design, develop and test new ideas at a laboratory scale whilst ensuring biotechnological tractability to enable the subsequent development of sustainable and natural bioprocesses suitable for scale-up and manufacture.<\/p>

We develop our own biocatalysts to ensure freedom to operate, confidentiality and IP retention. Product testing and production is performed externally as required throughour network of partners.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGlycoscience, based in Northern Spain, has recently commissioned state-of-the-art R&D and bioprocess development facilities in Bilbao to add to its chemical facilities in Barcelona. This powerful combination of chemistry and biotechnology enables the Glycoscience team to rapidly identify new lead molecules, screen for new non-commercial enzymes and develop cost efficient bioprocesses for their scale-up. A way to efficiently produce a novel class of biomimetic glycoconjugates<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Nature has exploited sugars to store and release bioactive compounds using enzymes for millenia. Based on this knowledge, Glycoscience has found a way to efficiently produce a novel class of biomimetic glycoconjugates, called GLYCO-PROSIDES, using cell-free synthetic biological techniques. Unlike traditional glycoconjugates, GLYCO-PROSIDES are versatile delivery systems that can release bioactive compounds within a broad variety of biological and non-biological environments and that can be finely tuned to optimize polarity and rate of delivery to suit application.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
