Au cours des deux derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies, la production d\u2019oranges a chut\u00e9 d\u2019environ 90 %, principalement \u00e0 cause du <em>citrus greening<\/em>, une maladie bact\u00e9rienne caus\u00e9e par le HLB (<em>Huanglongbing<\/em>), aggrav\u00e9e par la fr\u00e9quence croissante des ouragans dans la r\u00e9gion.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce d\u00e9clin a pouss\u00e9 de nombreux producteurs \u00e0 vendre leurs terres pour un d\u00e9veloppement urbain, transformant profond\u00e9ment le paysage agricole de la Floride. Pour faire face \u00e0 ce probl\u00e8me, les chercheurs s\u2019efforcent de d\u00e9velopper de nouvelles vari\u00e9t\u00e9s g\u00e9n\u00e9tiquement modifi\u00e9es, r\u00e9sistantes \u00e0 la maladie, bien que ces solutions puissent mettre des ann\u00e9es \u00e0 arriver sur le march\u00e9.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chez <strong>Glycoscience<\/strong>, nous pensons que ce contexte souligne la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 urgente de solutions naturelles et durables.
